At Brinsworth Howarth Primary School, we are proud to have pupil representatives from each year group (Year 1-6) that are part of our School Council. At the beginning of each year, new school councillors are elected through a democratic process that reflects the traditional British voting system. The council meet regularly with Miss Jackson to address and sort out problems, and suggest improvements for the whole school. They also help to support fundraising activities such as our Summer and Christmas fairs.
These councils are in place so that pupils have a voice, and have the opportunity to be involved in decisions about the school that affect them. All pupils have the opportunity to raise issues, share ideas and take part in discussions during their own Class Councils. Pupils at Brinsworth Howarth know that this is their school, and their thoughts and ideas matter.
